Personal Statement
His sweat drops, fell from his face to the floor at a rapid pace as if his body was pleading him to stop working. At a young age I was always right beside my dad afterschool helping him in his small business to carry things, clean, and do as much as I could in order to give him my helping hand. My father always took a look at me after a long tiring day of work with his dark brown eyes and told me “I want you to have success and never want you to struggle in life like I have in my life”. My father’s everyday struggle to bring a hot plate to the table has helped me grow as a person. It has not just helped me appreciate the small things in life but has also showed me how I can be anything I set my mind too.
Over the years I have always talked to my father about my life, my struggles, my happiest moments in life, but most importantly my dreams. In the many dreams I spoke to him about the one that I truly want to for fill one day is him to see me graduate from a great institution. He has inspired me in many ways to pursue my dreams and to go to a prestige college like (college name). I am aspiring to become a Computer Engineering one day to make not only myself proud but also my whole family.
I hear my father’s words in every step I take in life, which have pushed me into accomplishing many goals in my life like being the captain of my high school soccer team. I am also proud student of a remarkable tech academy in which out of many students I landed a paid internship at the Law Library of University of Southern California. As I look into the future I see myself a part of a great school and on my path to a better successful life.
